Luke Shaw Hits Back At Critics Over Manchester United Loyalty Concerns
Luke Shaw has responded to critics questioning his commitment to Manchester United amid an injury-plagued season. The left-back, who has made only 15 appearances for United across all competitions this season, has been sidelined since February due to a muscle injury. Despite his limited playtime, Shaw was included in Gareth Southgate's provisional 33-man squad for Euro 2024.
Taking to Instagram, Shaw expressed his frustration over doubts about his loyalty to Manchester United. "There's nothing I want to do more than play and win with United," Shaw posted. He clarified that he is not fully fit for either club or country but is working diligently towards recovery.

"I don't normally react to things I see on social media, but there's a lot of people questioning my loyalty to this club and asking how I am fit for England but not United," Shaw wrote. "The reality is I am not 100% fit for either right now, but I am doing everything I can and constantly working to be [fit]."
Shaw emphasised his dedication to Manchester United, highlighting his decade-long tenure with the club. "I have been at this club for 10 years through highs and lows and for anyone to question my loyalty is obviously frustrating," he stated. Shaw's primary focus remains on regaining fitness and being prepared for whatever the summer holds.
England's Euro 2024 Preparations
England will play two friendly matches before the Euros, with Southgate set to announce his final 26-man squad following their game against Iceland on June 7. Shaw's inclusion in the provisional squad underscores Southgate's faith in the player's abilities despite his recent injury struggles.
The left-back's determination to return to peak form reflects his commitment both to Manchester United and the national team. As England gears up for Euro 2024, Shaw's progress will be closely monitored by fans and management alike.
