Jamie Vardy Signs One-Year Extension With Leicester City Until 2025
Jamie Vardy has committed to Leicester City for another year, extending his contract until June 2025. The 37-year-old striker joined the Foxes in 2012 from non-league Fleetwood Town and has since become a pivotal figure at the club. Vardy is third on Leicester's all-time top scorer list, having netted 190 goals in 464 appearances.
During his tenure, Vardy has been instrumental in Leicester's successes. He played a crucial role in their historic Premier League title win in the 2015-16 season. Additionally, he has lifted the FA Cup, Community Shield, and two Championship titles with the club. Last season, Vardy scored 20 goals across all competitions, aiding Leicester's promotion back to the Premier League as champions after a brief stint in the lower division.

In a statement on the club's website, Vardy expressed his satisfaction with his performance last season and his eagerness for the future. "To get the numbers that I did [last season], I'm delighted with it, but there's still more to come," he said. "I've always said that age is just a number. My legs feel fine so that's why I carry on until my legs say, 'That's it, game over'. There will be a day when that comes, but that's not right now."
Looking Ahead
Vardy also shared his excitement about competing in the Premier League again. "We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it's the best league in the world. That's where you want to be playing your football," he added.
The announcement was accompanied by a celebratory tweet from Leicester City's official Twitter account, featuring a picture of Vardy and a caption that read: "Who's ready for an afterparty? Jamie Vardy signs for another year!"
Vardy's extension is expected to bolster Leicester City's attacking options as they prepare for another challenging season in England's top flight.
