Ipswich Town Announces Signings Of Omari Hutchinson And Ben Johnson
Ipswich Town have acquired Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea in a permanent deal, setting a club-record fee. Ben Johnson has also joined from West Ham. Hutchinson's transfer reportedly cost £20 million with additional clauses. He signed a four-year contract after spending the previous season on loan at Ipswich in the Championship.Hutchinson played 50 matches across all competitions for Ipswich last season. During this period, he netted 11 goals and provided six assists, significantly contributing to their promotion to the Premier League. His performance was instrumental in securing their top-flight status.The Tractor Boys also announced Ben Johnson's signing on a five-year deal. Johnson joined on a free transfer after rejecting a new contract offer from West Ham. His current contract expired at the end of June, prompting his move to Ipswich.Johnson progressed through West Ham's youth academy and made his senior debut in 2019. Over his tenure with the Hammers, he accumulated 109 appearances for the first team, showcasing his defensive capabilities.
