Ipswich Boss McKenna Stays Grounded Amid Chelsea, Brighton Speculation
Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is dismissing rumours linking him with the vacant managerial positions at Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion. McKenna has received widespread acclaim after guiding Ipswich to consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League, ending the club's 22-year absence from the top tier.
His impressive achievements have sparked suggestions that he is a target for other clubs. Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly interested following Roberto De Zerbi's departure. Additionally, recent reports have named McKenna as a potential candidate for Chelsea's managerial role after Mauricio Pochettino's unexpected exit by mutual consent.

On Tuesday, McKenna was awarded the League Managers Association's Manager of the Year, triumphing over notable figures such as Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta, Sean Dyche, Unai Emery, and John Mousinho. Despite the speculation, McKenna remains focused on celebrating Ipswich's accomplishments.
"When you do well as a manager, or as a player, there's always going to be speculation," McKenna said at the awards ceremony. "What we've achieved is no ordinary thing so of course there's going to be speculation. That's not where my focus is, to be honest."
McKenna expressed his pride in Ipswich's recent successes and emphasised that his attention is on the future of the club. "It's been a wonderful couple of years and tonight is about celebrating that. Everyone's looking forward to next season and I know the club's going to be in a really good place," he added.
There have also been tentative links between McKenna and a return to Manchester United, where he spent five years coaching both the academy and first team. Erik ten Hag's position at Manchester United continues to face scrutiny, adding fuel to these rumours.
Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson presented McKenna with his award on Tuesday, which McKenna described as one of the most humbling and proud moments of his life. "It's the best thing in the world and I've had good experience as a first-team coach, but to be a manager in the Premier League and go up against great managers is going to be a great challenge and something I can't wait for," he said.
As Ipswich Town prepares for their return to the Premier League, McKenna's focus remains firmly on guiding his team through this new chapter. The club and its supporters eagerly anticipate what lies ahead under his leadership.
