Harry Kane's Euro 2024 Squad Inclusion In Doubt Due To Injury

Harry Kane's participation in England's Euro 2024 squad remains uncertain as he continues to grapple with a persistent back issue. Gareth Southgate is set to announce his preliminary squad for the tournament on Tuesday, ahead of friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland.

The England captain missed the final two Bundesliga matches of the season after exiting Bayern Munich's Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid. Bayern Munich's manager, Thomas Tuchel, confirmed that Kane returned to England for treatment before their final match against Hoffenheim.

Tuchel expressed gratitude towards the fans, stating, "A massive thanks to our fans who have made me and my family feel so welcome and at home this season. Was great to spend a nice moment with the family on the pitch and thank our incredible home fans after a good win. We'll look to finish on a high note next weekend." #MiaSanMia

When questioned about Kane's injury, Tuchel revealed that the striker had been struggling for several weeks. "In Madrid, it was borderline. We tried injections and treatments. The back has completely closed. It has gotten worse and kept breaking out in small, everyday movements. There's no chance he's even training," Tuchel explained.

Kane had an impressive debut season with Bayern Munich, scoring 36 league goals. However, his injury prevented him from surpassing Robert Lewandowski's single-season goal record of 41, set in the 2019-20 season.

Southgate's final 26-man squad will be announced on June 7, ahead of England's tournament opener against Serbia on June 16.
