Jesper Lindstrom Joins Everton On Loan From Napoli With Option To Buy
Everton have secured Jesper Lindstrom on loan from Napoli for the 2024-25 season, with an option to make the transfer permanent. The Danish international joins after a challenging stint in Italy, where he played just 416 minutes across 22 Serie A matches. Lindstrom is Everton's fourth signing this season, following Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jack Harrison.
The club had been prioritising the addition of another wide attacker after Arnaut Danjuma returned to Villarreal and Lewis Dobbin was sold to Aston Villa. Everton struggled offensively last season, scoring only 40 goals, which was the second lowest in the Premier League. Manager Sean Dyche believes Lindstrom can significantly enhance their attacking options.

"Jesper is a player with very good ability who can operate in a number of different attacking roles, which will benefit us heading into the new season," said Dyche. "He joins us with a range of different experiences. He is hungry and eager to succeed with us, and that's a strong starting point as we look to add more productivity to our attack."
Lindstrom arrived at Napoli from Eintracht Frankfurt, where he scored 14 goals in 80 appearances and helped the German side win the Europa League in the 2021-22 season. Despite his limited playing time in Italy, he remains optimistic about his future at Everton.
"I feel very good. It's amazing to represent Everton," Lindstrom said during his first interview with the club. "This is a big club with big history, a good stadium, and very good facilities as well. I'm very happy to be here and I feel like this is a good fit."
Lindstrom's Enthusiasm
Lindstrom expressed his excitement about joining Everton and adapting quickly due to similarities between England and Denmark. "I actually heard of Everton's interest a while ago—not only from now but previously," he noted. "England is very similar to Denmark so I will feel at home quickly."
He also mentioned conversations with the manager that boosted his confidence about fitting into the team’s style of play. "I've spoken to the manager. It sounds as though he likes the way I play football and I can be a good fit for the team with my speed, so now I want to deliver," Lindstrom added.
Everton announced Lindstrom's signing on social media: "We have completed the season-long loan signing of Jesper Lindstrom from Napoli, with the agreement including an option to make the move permanent next summer."

With these additions, Everton aims to improve their offensive capabilities for the upcoming season. The club hopes that Lindstrom’s versatility and experience will bring much-needed dynamism to their attack.
