Southgate Stresses Team Effort For Euro 2024, Not Just Bellingham
England will not be overly reliant on Jude Bellingham at Euro 2024, according to Gareth Southgate. Bellingham has excelled for Real Madrid this season, contributing significantly to their LaLiga and Champions League victories with 23 goals. He has also become a key player for the Three Lions, who are among the favourites for the tournament.
Bellingham was given a break following the Champions League final, missing England's friendlies against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland. The Three Lions struggled in his absence, notably losing 1-0 to Iceland. Addressing concerns about over-reliance on Bellingham, Southgate emphasised the importance of a collective effort.

"We are not putting everything on Jude," Southgate stated. "We've got a lot of good players and it is a collective thing to go and try to win this tournament."
Southgate further elaborated that relying on a single player would not lead to success. "If we are relying on one person that isn't going to be a team that wins. I'm sure he will give the squad a lift but it is not his responsibility to do that. It is for all of us to get the focus right, to make sure individually our mentality is right," he added.
Upcoming Matches
England will face Serbia in their opening match of Euro 2024 on June 16, followed by games against Denmark and Slovenia. The team aims to perform well collectively, leveraging the strengths of all players rather than depending solely on Bellingham.
