Ederson Clears Air On Alleged Rift With Man City's Ortega

Ederson has dismissed rumours of a conflict with fellow Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega. The Brazilian was substituted after fracturing his eye socket in City's second-to-last Premier League game, a crucial 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

Ortega stepped in and made a crucial save against Son Heung-min, helping City maintain their narrow lead over Arsenal. This win was pivotal as City secured their fourth consecutive title by defeating West Ham five days later.

Ederson Denies Rift with Ortega

An article from The Athletic suggested Ederson was unhappy with the praise Ortega received for his performance. However, Ederson took to Instagram to refute these claims. "I would like to clarify that the note published by The Athletic yesterday, referring to my alleged dissatisfaction with a co-worker, is completely false," he wrote.

Ederson explained that the day of his injury was one of the toughest in his career. He missed the Copa America due to this injury. "The alleged day reported was, without a doubt, one of the most difficult days of my career, when I suffered a fracture that prevented me from playing in the final stretch of the season and, consequently, from representing my country in the Copa America," he added.

Despite his injury, Ederson's primary concern was continuing to play and help City secure the title. "At the time of the injury, my only thought was to continue in the match, defending City in the fight for the title," he stated. However, he acknowledged that his injury severely impaired his vision.

Ederson remains focused on preparing for the upcoming season. He has also been linked with a potential transfer recently, attracting interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

"But the emotion of the match would be greater than the reality and, inevitably, I would not be able to continue as I would have liked due to the damage it caused, completely blocking my field of vision," Ederson noted.

The goalkeeper's focus now is on recovery and preparation for future challenges. His commitment to Manchester City remains strong despite recent transfer speculations.
