Dundee Vs Rangers: Final Pitch Inspection To Decide Premiership Game Fate
The much-anticipated cinch Premiership clash between Rangers and Dundee faces uncertainty as the decision regarding the match has been deferred to later on Wednesday. Despite an initial pitch inspection at 11 am by referee Don Robertson, which deemed the Dens Park pitch playable, concerns over the forecasted afternoon weather in Dundee have necessitated a further inspection at 3:30 pm.
Rangers Football Club has voiced its insistence on an early decision regarding the match to accommodate its traveling supporters, highlighting the inconvenience caused by the delay. This comes after the game had already been postponed once, a mere 90 minutes before kickoff last month, due to similar concerns.

Both clubs and the league have concurred on the necessity of a subsequent pitch inspection later today, given the adverse weather predictions. This season has seen four games at Dens Park postponed already, with Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell commenting on the unplayable condition of certain areas of the pitch after his team's narrow 3-2 victory there last Saturday. That match proceeded only after a second inspection was conducted at 1 pm, with fans already en route.
Rangers manager Philippe Clement expressed frustration over the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the fixture, terming it "crazy". Conversely, Dundee's managing director John Nelms remained optimistic about the game proceeding as planned.
The stakes are high for both teams; Rangers aims to ascend to the top of the table, while Dundee seeks to secure a top-six position before the upcoming split in fixtures. However, a postponement of Wednesday's game could potentially delay the announcement of the remaining fixtures for the season.
