Terzic Urges Dortmund To Elevate Game For Champions League Victory At PSG

Borussia Dortmund heads into the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain with a slender 1-0 advantage, yet Coach Edin Terzic emphasizes the need for an enhanced performance to secure their place in the final. Despite holding a lead, Dortmund's history at PSG's home ground, the Parc des Princes, is less than favorable, with no victories in their previous three visits and a 2-0 defeat in their last encounter during the group stage in September.

Terzic, addressing reporters on Monday, acknowledged the quality of Dortmund's game last week but stressed that a similar performance might not suffice against a PSG side expected to elevate their game. "We showed a good game last week, which gave us that little lead. But that performance probably won't be enough to get us into the final," Terzic remarked. He highlighted the necessity of a collective effort and a strategic approach to overcome PSG in Tuesday's match.

Dortmund Must Excel at PSG

The improvement in Dortmund's performance since their loss in September was also noted by Terzic. He pointed out the lack of courage and identity in their earlier match but praised the team's evolution in subsequent encounters with PSG. "We hadn't really found ourselves yet. We lacked courage in many areas. In the two games in Dortmund, we then showed that we can play very differently against PSG," he said.

Dortmund's resilience was evident as they held PSG to a draw in December during their second group-stage match before securing a victory on May 1. Terzic underscored the importance of maintaining intensity on the pitch and expressed readiness to push the team's limits. "Part of the success was bringing that intensity onto the pitch. If we need to, we'll run another 20 kilometres," he stated.

As Dortmund prepares for this crucial encounter, Terzic's words reflect a blend of caution and optimism. The team's ability to adapt and improve since their last defeat at Parc des Princes suggests a promising battle ahead. With a dream of reaching the final at stake, both teams are expected to deliver an enthralling performance in Paris.
