Denmark Prepares For Strategic Battle With Germany In Euro 2024 Knockouts

Denmark's head coach, Kasper Hjulmand, is eagerly anticipating the challenge of facing Euro 2024 hosts Germany in the knockout stages this Saturday. The Danes wrapped up their Group C campaign with a goalless draw against Serbia in Munich, securing second place behind England.

Reflecting on the match against Serbia, Hjulmand said, "The last seven, eight minutes were just defending, so I think our defence was really good. We had to fight through the game at the end. But I think we showed character and there are so many things from the game that I'm happy about."

Denmark managed to draw all three of their group games. They finished ahead of Slovenia based on their disciplinary record. This was due to Milivoje Novakovic, part of Matjaz Kek's coaching staff, receiving a yellow card against Denmark.

Hjulmand acknowledged areas for improvement in attack but expressed confidence in his players. "There are a few things in the attack that we have to tweak in order to succeed but I know that we can do that. We have some great players there," he stated.

The upcoming match against Germany presents a significant challenge for Denmark. They have not beaten Germany in their last four encounters, with their last victory dating back to an international friendly in March 2007.

Hjulmand is enthusiastic about playing against Germany. He remarked, "I really love football here in Germany and playing against Germany with the Danish team, it can't be better, I can't wait. It's a great team. But we're a great team as well. And when we play the big nations, we always step up."

The Danish team's official Twitter account celebrated their advancement with a post saying: "VI ER VIDERE ???????? Det ender uafgjort, men vi er videre. SDAN!!" (@fbbillederdk #herrelandsholdet #ForDanmark #EURO2024).

This upcoming match is highly anticipated by fans and players alike as Denmark aims to overcome their recent history against Germany and advance further in Euro 2024.
