Denmark Draws With Serbia To Secure Euro 2024 Round Of 16 Spot Against Germany
Denmark secured a spot in the Euro 2024 last 16 after a goalless draw with Serbia, who were subsequently eliminated. The Danes entered the final Group C matchday knowing a win could make them group winners. However, Kasper Hjolmund's team finished second and will face hosts Germany on Saturday.
Serbia needed a victory to have any chance of advancing. Despite Novak Djokovic watching from the stands in Munich, Dragan Stojkovic's side couldn't secure the win. Luka Jovic had a goal disallowed, and Aleksandar Mitrovic saw two penalty appeals dismissed before curling a shot just wide.

Dusan Vlahovic also came close with a late header that landed on the roof of the net. Despite these efforts, Serbia couldn't break their winless streak in major tournaments. Their last victory was a 1-0 win over Costa Rica at the 2018 World Cup.
Denmark managed to progress despite not winning any matches in Group C. Their solid defense ensured they got the necessary result against Serbia. Meanwhile, England topped Group C after also drawing 0-0 with Slovenia in their final match.
It ends 0-0 in Munich.

Serbia's Recent Form
Serbia has struggled recently, failing to win any of their last eight major tournament matches (two draws, five losses). This is their longest winless run at tournaments since Yugoslavia's streak between 1974 and 1982. Since winning four consecutive matches from January to June 2023, Serbia has only won four out of their last 14 games across all competitions.
The Serbian team has also kept just two clean sheets during this period. Their inability to secure victories or maintain defensive solidity has been a significant issue for them.
Denmark will now prepare for their crucial match against Germany, hoping to advance further in Euro 2024. Meanwhile, Serbia will need to reflect on their performance and address their ongoing struggles in major tournaments.
