Chelsea Welcomes Young Talent Omari Kellyman In A £19 Million Deal From Aston Villa
Omari Kellyman has joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in a deal reportedly worth up to £19 million. The 18-year-old England youth international has made six appearances for Villa's senior team. He initially moved to Villa from Derby County in 2022.
The significant fee Chelsea are paying for Kellyman has raised eyebrows. Both Chelsea and Villa are reportedly at risk of breaching the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR), which could lead to points deductions. However, selling academy players like Kellyman represents pure profit for the selling club.

Kellyman's transfer follows Villa's recent acquisition of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea for a reported £37.5 million. This transaction occurred just a day before Kellyman's move to Chelsea.
Villa also recently purchased Lewis Dobbin from Everton for £10 million, following the sale of midfielder Tim Iroegbunam to Everton for £9 million.
Chelsea have confirmed Hakim Ziyech's departure to Galatasaray on a permanent basis after his successful loan spell last season. Ziyech joined Galatasaray on a free transfer, with the Turkish club able to activate the move if certain conditions were met.
Ziyech, a Moroccan international, signed with Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 on a five-year contract but struggled to secure a regular starting position at Stamford Bridge. During his time at Chelsea, he played 64 Premier League matches, scoring six goals and providing nine assists. He also created 72 chances, registering an expected assists (xA) figure of 7.78.
