Brazil Wins Bid To Host The 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup
Brazil has secured the hosting rights for the 2027 Women's World Cup, overcoming a joint bid from Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Initially, the United States and Mexico were considered favourites to host the tournament but withdrew their bid in April to focus on a bid for the 2031 event. South Africa also withdrew its bid for the 2027 event last November.
This decision marks the first time the Women's World Cup will be held in South America. FIFA president Gianni Infantino congratulated Brazil, stating, "We will have the best World Cup in Brazil." He also acknowledged the efforts of the BNG bid, which comprised Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany.

The decision was announced at FIFA's annual congress in Bangkok. This year's selection process was notable for being the first Women's World Cup awarded via an open vote of member nations. Brazil received 119 votes, surpassing their European rivals who garnered 78 votes.
Brazil had previously launched a bid to host the 2023 Women's World Cup but withdrew due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The 2023 tournament was ultimately co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, with Spain defeating England in the final to claim their first world title.

The announcement was made official on FIFA's Twitter account, which shared a congratulatory message to Brazil and highlighted this milestone in Women's World Cup history.
