Brazil Prepares For Uruguay Match Without Key Player Vinicius, Coach Says

Brazil head coach Dorival Junior emphasised the need for his team to adapt without Vinicius Junior after their 1-1 draw with Colombia in California. Vinicius received his second yellow card of the tournament for a tackle on James Rodriguez, ruling him out of their quarter-final clash against Uruguay on Sunday. The Real Madrid star, who has netted twice for Brazil at the Copa America, will be eligible for the semi-final if they overcome Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

Junior highlighted the importance of coping without key players, referencing Neymar's long-term absence. "Unfortunately, we have already lost a key player like Neymar for a long time," he said. "And we have to learn that in certain moments, we will not have important players in a game. Others will have to step up. And I think that is the way." He acknowledged the upcoming match against Uruguay would be tough.

Brazil Adjusts for Uruguay Without Vinicius

Colombia extended their impressive unbeaten streak to 26 matches (W20 D6), marking their second-longest run without a loss in history. Nestor Lorenzo's team will face Panama in the quarter-finals at State Farm Stadium on Saturday. Despite not securing a win against Brazil, Lorenzo was pleased with his team's performance against the nine-time Copa America champions.

Lorenzo expressed satisfaction with his team's growth and resilience. "We know that we are in a good moment as a team and we know that we are growing. But it's not easy," he said. "Brazil has great players. They play very well. You can not neglect the team for a second and I think we played a great game." He added that regardless of the result, his feelings about the team's effort would remain positive.

The Colombian coach praised his squad's ability to compete against top-tier teams like Brazil. "I am satisfied because the team gave a little more and it was difficult to play a rival like Brazil," Lorenzo stated.

As Brazil prepares for their quarter-final match without Vinicius Junior, they must rely on other players to fill the gap left by his absence. The outcome of this match will determine if they advance to face potential semi-final opponents.

Meanwhile, Colombia aims to maintain their unbeaten record as they take on Panama, hoping to continue their successful run in the tournament.

The Copa America continues to showcase intense competition and remarkable performances from all participating teams, keeping fans eagerly anticipating each match.
