Bayern Munich's De Ligt Eyed By Manchester United, Says Honorary President
Bayern Munich's honorary president, Uli Hoeness, has suggested that Matthijs de Ligt might leave during this transfer window amid speculation linking him to Manchester United. De Ligt, who previously played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, has struggled in his first two seasons at Bayern.
Reports indicate that De Ligt has agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, although no formal agreement between the clubs has been reached. Erik ten Hag confirmed the club's interest in signing De Ligt. If the move happens, De Ligt would be their second defensive addition after securing a £52 million deal for Leny Yoro last week.

Bayern Munich have also strengthened their defence by signing Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart during the off-season. Hoeness hinted that there is a possibility of De Ligt leaving the Allianz Arena. "No more players will come unless two or three players leave first," Hoeness said.
Hoeness emphasised that Bayern Munich operates without financial waste. "Max Eberl and Christoph Freund know full well that no one will come unless one or two prominent players leave," he stated. He also mentioned that it is possible a defender could still depart from the team.
De Ligt made just 22 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern last year, starting 16 matches as the club finished third behind unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen and surprise package Stuttgart. Despite his limited playtime, Hoeness expressed no issue if De Ligt stayed but personally would not sell Dayot Upamecano.
"De Ligt is Dutch, and the coach at Man Utd is Dutch. I would have no problem if he stayed," Hoeness remarked.
The situation remains fluid as both clubs navigate their transfer strategies. The potential move of De Ligt to Manchester United continues to be a topic of interest among fans and analysts alike.
