Aston Villa Qualifies For Champions League After 41 Years Following Spurs' Defeat To Man City
Aston Villa will participate in Europe's premier continental competition for the first time in 41 years next season after securing a spot in the Champions League. Tottenham's 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday confirmed Villa's fourth-place finish in the Premier League.
Unai Emery's side last competed in UEFA's top club competition during the 1982-83 season, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Juventus in the European Cup. This season, Villa reached the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League but were knocked out by Olympiacos.

Despite their exit from the Europa Conference League, Aston Villa now sets their sights on competing for Europe's top prize in the Champions League next campaign.
