Mikel Arteta Invites Santi Cazorla For Arsenal Coaching Role Post-Retirement
Santi Cazorla has disclosed that Mikel Arteta has left the possibility open for him to return to Arsenal as part of the coaching staff once he concludes his illustrious career. The 39-year-old rejoined his boyhood club Real Oviedo last year and is close to helping Luis Carrion's side return to La Liga after a 23-year absence, during which they fell as low as the fourth tier of Spanish football.
It is anticipated that the two-time European Championship winner will retire following their second division play-off final against Eibar. This could pave the way for a coaching career with Arsenal, where he spent six years as a player. Cazorla made 180 appearances for the Gunners between 2012 and 2016, scoring 29 goals and providing 44 assists. During his tenure, he won the FA Cup and Community Shield twice, alongside his compatriot Arteta.

While Cazorla's primary focus remains on Saturday's fixture with Real Oviedo, he revealed that discussions have taken place with the Arsenal manager about a potential return to the Emirates. "I have a very special affection for Arsenal," Cazorla told Sky Sports. "I spent six wonderful years there, and I know how much all the people love me there."
Cazorla added, "Of course, I was fortunate to share a dressing room with Mikel Arteta, and now he is the manager. We had conversations about that, but right now I am not focused on anything other than contributing to this club, Oviedo, and continuing to enjoy football as a player. After that, we will see what the future holds for me."
He emphasized that Arsenal has always left the door open for his return but reiterated his current commitment to Real Oviedo's play-offs and enjoying the final days of his playing career.

Cazorla's potential move into coaching at Arsenal would mark a significant chapter in his post-playing career. His experience and connection with Arteta could provide valuable insights and continuity within the club's coaching framework. However, for now, all eyes are on Real Oviedo's crucial play-off match against Eibar.
