Zimbabwe Unveils ODI And T20I Squads Led By Craig Ervine And Sikandar Raza For Upcoming Series Against Pakistan

Zimbabwe has unveiled its squads for the upcoming home series against Pakistan, blending seasoned players with fresh talent. Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza have been appointed as captains for the ODI and T20I teams, respectively. The series is set to commence on Sunday, 24 November, at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

In the ODI squad, Ervine will lead a team that includes experienced players like Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava. Newcomers Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa, and Tinotenda Maposa have also been selected. This mix aims to provide a balanced approach for the matches against Pakistan.

Zimbabwe Announces Squads for Pakistan Series

The Convener of Selectors, David Mutendera, expressed optimism about the chosen squad. He believes that combining experience with youth will be advantageous for Zimbabwe in these white-ball matches. "The series against Pakistan is an important platform for Zimbabwe," Mutendera stated. "We believe the ODI squad we have selected is well-rounded."

The T20I squad remains unchanged from their successful ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 sub-regional qualifier in Kenya. Led by Raza, this decision aims to maintain team cohesion and build on their previous success. Notably absent from this squad are Ervine, Williams, and Joylord Gumbie.

Mutendera highlighted the significance of playing against a strong team like Pakistan. "Facing a high-calibre side like Pakistan is a tremendous opportunity for us to gauge our progress," he remarked. He expressed confidence that both squads would be competitive on the international stage.

The schedule for the series includes three ODIs and three T20Is. The first ODI will take place on Sunday, 24 November, followed by matches on 26 and 28 November. The T20I series begins on 1 December and concludes on 5 December.
