WPL 2025 Auction: Full Players List With Base Prices And Specialisations Revealed

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the player list for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 Auction. This much-anticipated event will occur in Bengaluru on December 15.

A total of 120 players are set to be auctioned, comprising 91 Indian and 29 overseas cricketers. Among these, three players hail from Associate Nations. The players are categorised into eight distinct sets for the bidding process.

Prominent names listed at the highest base price of Rs 50 lakh (approximately US$60,000) include Deandra Dottin from West Indies, England's captain Heather Knight, and South Africa's Lizelle Lee. Knight was previously released by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Among Indian players, notable figures such as Sneh Rana, Poonam Yadav, Shubha Satheesh, Tejal Hasabnis, and Mansi Joshi stand out. Rana was released by Gujarat Giants, while Yadav was let go by Delhi Capitals.

The auction will also feature several notable overseas players. England's Lauren Bell, Maia Boucher, Sarah Glenn, and Sophia Dunkley will be available alongside Knight. Bell was released by UP Warriorz. England has eight players in the auction, second only to Australia's twelve.

Australian hopefuls include Amanda-Jade Wellington, Alana King, Kim Garth, Laura Harris (released by Delhi Capitals), and Darcie Brown. They aim to secure spots in various teams during the auction.

Team Slot Availability

Only 19 slots remain open for teams to fill during the auction. Delhi Capitals have four slots available with one reserved for an overseas player. Gujarat Giants also have four slots but two are for overseas players.

Mumbai Indians need to fill four positions with one slot for an overseas player. Royal Challengers Bangalore have four slots but no room for overseas players. UP Warriorz have three slots left with one reserved for an overseas player.

Associate Nation Players

Teams can include a seventh overseas player if she is from an Associate nation. Registered Associate players include UAE's Samaira Dharnidharka and Theertha Satish, along with Scotland's Sarah Bryce. Kathryn Bryce from Scotland has not registered this time; she was previously with Gujarat Giants.

The auction promises intense competition as teams strategise to fill their limited slots with top talent from around the world.
