WPL 2025 Auction: Key Details On Date, Venue, Remaining Purse And Retained Players List
The focus has now shifted to the Women's Premier League 2025 Mini Auction, following the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and retention deadline. All five teams are preparing to enhance their squads for the upcoming season.
During this auction, 19 slots, including five for overseas players, are available. Each franchise has a budget of Rs 15 crore, which is Rs 1.5 crore more than last year’s Rs 13.5 crore, to strengthen their teams.

On November 7, the retention deadline saw 71 players retained across five teams, including 25 overseas stars. This leaves minimal work for franchises during the mini auction. Here is a list of retained players:

The Gujarat Giants have the largest budget and will be active at the mini auction. Despite releasing fewer players than others UP Warriorz have the second-largest remaining budget followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Delhi Capitals (DC). The auction date and location are yet to be confirmed. However reports suggest it will occur next month in India. According to ESPN Cricinfo it is scheduled for Sunday December 15 in Bengaluru.
This year's WPL Mini Auction promises strategic moves from all teams as they aim to fill limited slots with a substantial budget increase compared to last year.
