Srinivasan's corporate career is closely tied to India Cements, where he became Vice Chairman and Managing Director in 1989. Under his leadership, the company expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions like Raasi Cements' hostile takeover and acquiring Yerraguntla plant from Cement Corporation of India.

Narayanaswami Srinivasan was born on January 3, 1945, in Kallidaikurichi, Tamil Nadu. His family had strong business ties; his father was among India Cements' first employees. He studied at Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School before earning a Bachelor of Science from Loyola College, Chennai.

He furthered his education with a Master of Science in chemical engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Personal Life

N Srinivasan is married to Chitra Srinivasan; they have two children: Rupa and Ashwin. Rupa is married to Gurunath Meiyappan, involved in the IPL spot-fixing case. She also served as president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

Srinivasan's family connections extend into sports administration through his brother N Ramachandran who held positions like President of the Indian Olympic Association.
