West Indies Announce ODI Squad For Bangladesh Series Featuring Uncapped Wicketkeeper Amir Jangoo
The West Indies cricket team has announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh, starting on December 8. The squad includes an uncapped wicketkeeper and sees the return of a capped all-rounder.
Two players have been added to the squad that played against England in October. All-rounder Justin Greaves and uncapped keeper-batter Amir Jangoo have been selected for the series.

Hayden Walsh Jnr, an experienced spinner, and Jewel Andrew, a young batter, have been left out. They did not play in the recent home series against England.
Greaves and Jangoo earned their spots through impressive domestic performances. Greaves scored 401 runs in five matches with three centuries at an average of 133.66, while Jangoo amassed 446 runs in seven matches with a century and three fifties at an average of 89.20.
The duo were the top run-scorers in the recent Super50 ODI tournament held in the West Indies. Greaves has international experience with three Tests and five ODIs under his belt, whereas Jangoo is yet to debut internationally.
Veteran Shai Hope will captain the team, with Brandon King as vice-captain. The batting line-up includes Keacy Carty, Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford, and Evin Lewis.
The pace attack features Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales. All-rounders Romario Shepherd, Greaves, Roston Chase, along with spinner Gudakesh Motie complete the squad.
Coach's Vision
Daren Sammy, head coach for West Indies' white-ball cricket, is eager for the series. He is also focused on preparing for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
"We continue to build towards the main target of the ICC Men's 50-over World Cup where we are looking to broaden the pool of players even with the short-term objectives of winning series, especially at home and building momentum on the recent win against England," Sammy said as quoted by ICC.
Player Flexibility
Sammy believes Greaves and Jangoo can excel if given a chance during this series. He appreciates their ability to add flexibility to the batting line-up.
"Greaves is capable of batting anywhere in the top six and brings that genuine all-round ability to the squad, which is welcomed at this stage, while Jangoo's prowess in the Super50 shows his flexibility to bring another dimension to our batting unit," Sammy added.
