West Indies ODI Squad Adjusts With Uncapped Players Following Key Pacers' Injuries

West Indies have had to adjust their ODI squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh due to injuries. Key pacers Shamar Joseph and Matthew Forde are out, leading to the inclusion of two uncapped players. The series will take place in St Kitts & Nevis, starting on December 8.

Marquino Mindley and Jediah Blades have been added to the 15-member squad. Both players are yet to make their international debuts. Their selection follows injuries to Forde and Joseph, who were initially part of the team. Forde is recovering from a thigh injury sustained against England last month, while Joseph has a shin injury from the recent Test series against Bangladesh.

West Indies Add Uncapped Players to ODI Squad

Mindley has earned his first call-up after leading the wicket-taking charts in the Super 50 ODI tournament. Blades also impressed during this competition, securing his spot for a potential debut. The squad already included uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo and all-rounder Justin Greaves, both selected due to strong domestic performances.

The West Indies team will continue under the leadership of Shai Hope, with Brandon King as vice-captain. Alzarri Joseph returns for the ODIs after serving a two-match suspension during the T20I series against England. Shimron Hetmyer retains his place in an otherwise unchanged squad.

Shai Hope (captain), Brandon King (vice captain), Jediah Blades, Keacy Carty, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Shimron Hetmyer, Amir Jangoo (wk), Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Marquino Mindley, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd.
