Wasim Jaffer Delivers Sharp Retort To Michael Vaughan's Social Media Tease

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer recently engaged in a social media exchange with ex-England captain Michael Vaughan. The two are known for their frequent online banter, often poking fun at each other's teams.

Michael Vaughan initiated the latest round of banter following India's poor performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Despite having star players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India lost the series 2-0, struggling against Sri Lankan spin bowling.

Vaughan took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll Jaffer by pretending he was unaware of the series outcome. He wrote, "Hi Wasim..What was the recent ODI series result in Sri Lanka? I have been away and missed it..Hope all is well."

Wasim Jaffer responded cleverly, referencing England's lack of success in Ashes Tests on Australian soil over the past decade. He replied, "I'll put it in Ashes terms for you Michael. Ind won as many games in that series as the Tests Eng have won in Aus in last 12 years."

India's ODI Struggles

The Indian team has had a rough start under new coach Gautam Gambhir. Although they secured a comfortable win in the T20 series, their performance in the ODIs has raised concerns ahead of next year's ICC Champions Trophy.

Meanwhile, Wasim Jaffer has taken on a new role as coach of the Punjab Ranji team for the upcoming season. His transition from player to coach marks a new chapter in his cricketing journey.

This exchange between Jaffer and Vaughan highlights their ongoing friendly rivalry and keeps fans entertained with their witty remarks.
