Wasim Akram And Michael Vaughan Share Their All-Time Favourite Pakistan Cricketers
Two cricket icons, Wasim Akram and Michael Vaughan, recently revealed their top three picks for the greatest Pakistani cricketers ever. These selections were shared while they were commentating during the ODI series between Pakistan and Australia.
The duo discussed their favourite Pakistani players in a broadcast show. Their insights provided a glimpse into the legends they admire most from Pakistan's cricket history.

Michael Vaughan, a former England captain, started his list with Javed Miandad at number three. He described Miandad as a 'ferocious brilliant batter' who made a significant impact in the 1980s. Vaughan noted that Miandad often found himself amidst controversy, adding complexity to his cricketing image.
"I'm going to go with someone that I watched a lot in the 80s he was ferocious brilliant batter always a bit of controversy about him Javid Miandad," said Vaughan on Fox Cricket.
Vaughan's second choice was Imran Khan, the captain who led Pakistan to World Cup victory. He praised Imran's leadership skills and his success in county cricket. Vaughan humorously mentioned Imran's charm off the field.
"Number two, Imran Khan without any question. Lifted the World Cup, revelation playing for Pakistan and he was brilliant at the county game and he could pull the chicks," added Vaughan.
When it came to Wasim Akram's turn to choose, he admitted being instructed to include himself in his list. Despite feeling embarrassed initially, Akram selected Waqar Younis as his third pick, acknowledging Waqar's undeniable status among Pakistan's cricket greats.
"Look I've been told I might go off the script here. I've been told that I have to pick myself up I'm bit embarrassed to do that but number three I pick Waqar Younis," said Akram.
For his second spot, Akram agreed with Vaughan by choosing Javed Miandad. He highlighted Miandad's immense contributions to Pakistan cricket and recognised that Miandad's name is synonymous with greatness.
"Number two is great Javed Miandad. I mean he every time you talk about greats coming out of Pakistan Javid Miandad, his name is right up there," the former Pakistan pacer added.
Akram reserved his top position for Imran Khan, focusing on Imran's influence during his peak as an allrounder. He noted that Imran belonged to an era rich with legendary allrounders like Ian Botham and Kapil Dev.
"It's got to be Imran Khan I've seen him in his prime days as a cricketer not off the field as a Playboy but as a cricketer I mean he was a proper all-rounder then that era was an all-rounder era. Ian Botham, Richard Headley, Imran Khan and then Kapil Dev from India," Akram concluded.
Vaughan placed Wasim Akram at number one on his list, recognising Akram’s unmatched brilliance as a cricketer. "He is my number one," Vaughan stated, emphasising Akram’s status as one of history’s finest fast bowlers.
