Washington Freedom Edges Out Seattle Orcas By 5 Wickets In MLC 2024 Thriller

Washington Freedom secured a thrilling five-wicket win against Seattle Orcas in a low-scoring match of Major League Cricket 2024 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, on Thursday (July 11). This victory propelled Washington Freedom to the top of the points table with five points from three matches, making them the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far.

Seattle Orcas had a tough start, losing Nauman Anwar for just 3 off 9 balls to Saurabh Netravalkar in the second over. The batters struggled to gain momentum on a slow pitch, scoring only 35 runs during the Powerplay. Ryan Rickelton was dismissed for 4 off 11 balls by Lockie Ferguson in the sixth over.

Freedom Wins in MLC 2024 Thriller

Quinton de Kock managed to score 24 off 19 balls but was bowled by Ferguson in the eighth over, leaving Seattle at 44/3. Lahiru Milantha and Obus Pienaar then anchored the innings with an unbeaten partnership of 63 runs. They guided Washington Freedom past their target with ten balls remaining, ensuring a crucial win for their team.
