Vyshak Vijaykumar And Ramandeep Singh Poised For India T20I Debut Against South Africa In Durban
Vyshak Vijaykumar and Ramandeep Singh might debut for Team India in the first T20I against South Africa at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium, Durban, on November 8. Both players have been called up for the T20I series, marking their potential entry into international cricket.
India's T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, welcomed Vyshak and Ramandeep to the team. They joined pacer Yash Dayal in receiving their first call-ups for the T20I squad. Dayal, who was previously selected for the Test squad, is also in line to make his debut in this format.

Despite being selected, Yash Dayal might not play immediately due to Arshdeep Singh leading the pace attack. Vyshak could secure a spot as the third pacer because of his bowling variations but faces competition from Avesh Khan.
Ramandeep Singh might replace Nitish Kumar Reddy but faces uncertainty with Hardik Pandya already in the team. India's numerous spin options further complicate his immediate selection prospects.
Before the series opener against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav introduced Vyshak and Ramandeep uniquely. In a BCCI video, he described them as "special recipes" for cricket: a fast bowler and a fierce batter.
"Hi friends, today we've brought for you two special recipes for a cricket ground. The first one is, a fast bowler and the second is a fierce batter. So let's first make a great fast bowler. To make a fast bowler you need agility, stamina, courage, power and a lot of spice of speed," said Suryakumar in a video posted by the BCCI.
IPL Performances
Vyshak played four matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2024. He took four wickets with game-changing spells that turned matches in his team's favour.
"Now is the time to make a fierce batter and for this, we need patience, self-confidence and a cunning mind. Let's sprinkle the salt of patience first, the spice of footwork and the sauce of concentration. When there will be coordination between the bat and feet, then only the batter will become great."
Ramandeep's Rising Star
Ramandeep Singh earned his place through strong performances with Kolkata Knight Riders during IPL 2024 and at the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. His all-round abilities make him an exciting addition to India's squad.
"Then add the powder of self-confidence and timing. In cricket and life, when the timing's right then everything's fine. In the end, as per taste, cunningness. So friends, our fast bowler and batter are ready. Add the two in the oven of training and see their magic unfold on the field," added Suryakumar.
