Vaibhav Suryavanshi Becomes Youngest IPL Player Amid Age Fraud Allegations And Historic Signing

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a 13-year-old cricket prodigy from Bihar, has made history by becoming the youngest player ever signed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. The Rajasthan Royals acquired him for ₹1.1 crore after a fierce bidding competition, marking a significant milestone for cricket in Bihar.

Despite this achievement, Vaibhav's success was soon overshadowed by allegations of age fraud. His father, Sanjiv Suryavanshi, addressed these claims directly, stating, "When he was 8 and a half years old, he first appeared for a BCCI bone test. He has already played for India U-19. We don't fear anyone. He can again undergo an age test."

Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Historic IPL Signing and Controversy

Vaibhav's record-breaking moment came as he surpassed Afghanistan's Allah Ghazanfar to become the youngest player in IPL history. Hailing from Samastipur in Bihar, his journey reflects his dedication and talent rather than controversies surrounding his age.

The IPL auction took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals competed for Vaibhav's signature. Ultimately, Rajasthan secured the left-handed batter who had already gained international recognition.

Vaibhav is also celebrated as the youngest batter to score a Youth Test century for India Under-19 at just 13 years and 288 days old. His impressive performance during trials included hitting eight sixes and four boundaries under the watchful eye of Rajasthan Royals' batting coach Vikram Rathour.

Sanjiv Suryavanshi expressed immense pride in his son's accomplishments despite ongoing controversies. He referred to Vaibhav as "the son of Bihar," highlighting their family's sacrifices for his cricketing dreams.

Bihar's Supportive Environment

Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Rakesh Tiwari praised Vaibhav's achievements and credited the Bihar government for nurturing young athletes. "Today is a very proud moment for Bihar cricket as Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made everyone here very proud. I can vouch for the fact that he will one day make India proud," Tiwari stated.

Currently playing in the U19 Asia Cup in Dubai, Vaibhav remains focused on his cricket goals. His father emphasized that distractions are not part of their agenda: "He just wants to play cricket and nothing else." As India prepares to face Pakistan on November 30, Vaibhav's inspiring journey continues to captivate fans worldwide.
