The June 2 morning match of the T20 World Cup 2024 saw co-hosts USA achieve a record run-chase against neighbours Canada in a Group A encounter. The USA secured a stunning victory in Dallas, completing the third-highest run chase in tournament history by chasing 195 runs.

Aaron Jones led the USA with an unbeaten 94 off 40 balls, hitting 10 sixes and four fours. Andries Gous also played a crucial role, contributing 65 runs. Their partnership of 131 runs turned the game in favour of the USA. Canada, batting first, set a competitive total with key contributions from Navneet Dhaliwal (50) and Nicholas Kirton.

Late fireworks from Shreyas Movva and Dilpreet Bajwa boosted Canada's score to 195. Despite an early setback with Steve Taylor's duck, Jones and Gous's aggressive batting ensured the USA chased down the target with more than an over to spare. This chase marked the highest successful run chase by the USA in T20Is.

Canada - 194/5 in 20 overs vs USA - 197/3 in 17.4 overs. Result - USA won by seven wickets and 14 balls to spare at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
