U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 In Malaysia: Teams, Venues, And Match Format Unveiled

The ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 will be hosted by Malaysia from January 18 to February 2, 2025. This second edition follows the inaugural tournament in South Africa in 2023, where India triumphed over England by seven wickets in the final.

Sixteen teams will compete in this 41-match event, showcasing the future stars of women's cricket over a span of 15 days. The tournament will mark Malaysia's debut in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup and Samoa's first appearance in any ICC World Cup event.

The competition begins with a group stage where the 16 teams are divided into four groups of four. Each team will play against every other team in their group once. The top three teams from each group will advance to the Super Six stage, which starts on January 25.

In the Super Six stage, the remaining 12 teams are split into two groups. Group 1 consists of the top three teams from Groups A and D, while Group 2 includes the top three from Groups B and C. Teams carry forward points, wins, and net run rates (NRRs) earned against fellow qualifiers.

The bottom-placed teams from each group will compete in a last-place playoff on January 24. In the Super Six, each team plays two matches against teams that finished at different positions within their corresponding groups.

Group A features India, Malaysia, West Indies, and Sri Lanka. Group B includes England, Pakistan, Ireland, and USA. Group C comprises South Africa, New Zealand, Samoa, and an African qualifier. Group D consists of Australia, Bangladesh, Scotland, and an Asian qualifier.

U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 Venues

The matches will be held across four venues in Malaysia. Bayuemas Oval in Selangor will host Group A matches along with Super Six matches and all knockout games including semi-finals and final. JCA Oval in Johor will host Group B matches and some Super Six fixtures.

If India qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 2 on January 31 at 14:30 local time at Bayuemas Oval. The final is scheduled for February 2 at the same venue.
