Suryakumar Yadav had maintained his position as the leading T20I batter since December 2023. Despite hitting two half-centuries in the ongoing T20 World Cup, he now trails Travis Head by two points in the latest ICC rankings for T20I batters, with Head scoring 842 points.

Head Becomes Top T20I Batter

Travis Head's rise to the number one spot saw him leap four places. Consequently, Suryakumar Yadav, Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan each dropped a position, rounding out the top five in the rankings.

Meanwhile, England captain Jos Buttler remains steady at sixth place. Following him are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Aiden Markram, and Brandon King who hold their positions at seventh, eighth, and ninth respectively. West Indies' Johnson Charles has made significant progress by climbing four places to enter the top 10.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Afghanistan has also seen a notable rise in his ranking. He moved up five places to secure the 11th spot after stellar performances in recent matches against Australia and Bangladesh. His contributions were crucial in Afghanistan's qualification for the semi-finals.

The latest ICC rankings reflect dynamic changes among top players based on their recent performances. Travis Head's ascent marks a significant shift at the pinnacle of T20I batting rankings.
