T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-Up Schedule: India To Face Bangladesh In A Key Match
The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 will commence on June 1, with 20 countries vying for the prestigious title. Before the tournament begins, warm-up fixtures are scheduled from May 27 to June 1.
Teams from around the world will showcase their skills across various venues in Trinidad and Tobago, Florida, and Texas. A total of 17 teams will participate in these warm-up matches.
The warm-up phase starts on Monday, May 27, with Canada facing Nepal at the Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Texas. Oman will play against Papua New Guinea at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago. Namibia will also compete against Uganda at the same venue.
On Tuesday, May 28, Sri Lanka will go up against the Netherlands in Florida, while Bangladesh takes on the USA in Texas. Australia is set to play Namibia in Trinidad and Tobago, concluding the day's matches.
Wednesday, May 29, features an intra-squad match for South Africa in Florida. Later that day, Afghanistan will face Oman in Trinidad and Tobago.
The action continues on Thursday, May 30, with Nepal playing against the USA and Scotland facing Uganda in Texas. The Netherlands will compete against Canada, and Namibia will play Papua New Guinea in Trinidad and Tobago.
Friday, May 31, sees Ireland clashing with Sri Lanka and Scotland taking on Afghanistan, both matches held in Trinidad and Tobago.
T20 WC 2024 Warm-Up: India to Play Bangladesh
The warm-up matches conclude on Saturday, June 1, with a highly anticipated match between Bangladesh and India. The match will be played in the USA, but the venue is yet to be confirmed.
These fixtures provide teams with an opportunity to get accustomed to the competition's intensity and make necessary adjustments ahead of the main event. Pakistan, New Zealand, and England are the teams that won't play a warm-up match. The matches won't have international T20 status; hence teams can use their maximum number of players.
