Anrich Nortje, awarded Man of the Match, expressed his satisfaction with his performance. "Definitely, this will get some momentum going. Tough few days, we've worked hard and it's nice to get some momentum," he said. Nortje highlighted the importance of early wickets and adapting to the conditions quickly.
South Africa's captain Aiden Markram was pleased with the win despite acknowledging the challenging batting conditions. "Happy with the win. The batting was little up and down, probably speaks to quite a tough wicket and luckily we found ways to score on this," he noted.
Sri Lanka's captain Wanindu Hasaranga reflected on his team's strategy and future prospects. "Our batters tried for 160-170. To be honest this was a 120 wicket especially with our bowlers," he said. Hasaranga remains optimistic about their upcoming matches.
The run rate of 4.42 in this match is the lowest ever in a T20 World Cup match and second lowest in a T20 International between two Full Member sides.
