Suryakumar Yadav Reflects On His Batting
Reflecting on his performance, Yadav shared insights into his approach during the innings break. "That's what I have practised. I enjoy batting from overs 7-15 because that's the most difficult phase where the opposition bowlers look to control things. I like to take charge in that phase; I enjoy it," Yadav told the broadcasters.
At the post-match presentation, Yadav attributed his success to hard work and a clear game plan. "I think there's a lot of hard work, there are a lot of processes and routine involved in it. I am clear in my mind about what I want to do. I don't mind giving this Player of the Match to a bowler. First time it's going to a batter (from India in this tournament), I don't mind. I think you just need to know your game plan and just play accordingly."
Yadav also highlighted his partnership with Pandya, saying, "I still remember when Hardik came in to bat, I told him that let's bat with the same intent. Let's keep pressing the pedal and keep pushing. In the end, very happy with a score of 180."
Suryakumar Yadav's spectacular performance not only secured a win for India but also saw him achieve a significant personal milestone by equalling Kohli's record for the most Player of the Match awards in T20Is. As the tournament progresses, his form and confidence will be crucial for India's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024.
