IPL: Rain Ensures Sunrisers Hyderabad's Entry Into Play-Offs
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have secured a spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) play-offs, despite their match against Gujarat Titans being abandoned due to rain. The game did not progress beyond the toss, but SRH's 15 points ensure a top-four finish for the first time since 2020.
However, SRH's chances of finishing in the top two have diminished. To achieve this, they must win their final game against Punjab Kings and hope Rajasthan Royals lose to Kolkata Knight Riders. This scenario would allow SRH to climb to second place.

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, were already out of play-off contention following their previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders, which was also called off due to a heavy storm. They currently sit third from the bottom, but this position could change based on the outcomes of the remaining matches.
The IPL's official Twitter account confirmed SRH's qualification for the play-offs with a tweet on May 16, 2024:
