Sri Lanka has announced their squad for the three-match ODI series against India, scheduled to begin on August 2. The team has undergone significant changes, including a new captain.
Charith Asalanka will lead the Sri Lankan side in the upcoming series. Asalanka, who previously took over T20 captaincy from Wanindu Hasaranga, now assumes leadership in the ODIs as well.

Charith Asalanka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kamindu Mendis, Janith Liyanage, Nishan Madushka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Chamika Karunaratne, Maheesh Theekshana, Akila Dananjaya, Dilshan Madushanka, Matheesha Pathirana, Asitha Fernando
Kusal Mendis has been replaced as captain despite leading Sri Lanka to six wins out of eight matches. Both Mendis and Hasaranga remain in the squad but will play as regular members.
Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana are expected to be crucial players for Sri Lanka. Dilshan Madushanka retains his place after being a replacement in the T20 series.
Sri Lanka's failure to finish in the top eight of the World Cup 2023 means they won't participate in the upcoming Champions Trophy. This series marks Asalanka's first assignment as captain in both formats.
