T20 World Cup 2024: Sri Lanka, Ireland Voice Concerns Over Travel Delays To ICC
Several teams have raised concerns about the travel arrangements for the T20 World Cup 2024. Sri Lanka, Ireland, and South Africa are reportedly among those affected.
Sri Lanka and Ireland have voiced their dissatisfaction to the ICC regarding travel issues following their recent warm-up match. Both teams encountered difficulties after playing a match in Fort Lauderhill, Florida.

According to Newswire.lk, Sri Lanka and Ireland were stranded in Florida for seven hours after their warm-up match. The teams were scheduled to travel to New York for their group stage matches but faced delays due to inadequate arrangements by the ICC.
Instead of arriving in New York on Friday evening, both teams reached on Saturday morning. This delay forced Sri Lanka to cancel their scheduled training session. Additionally, Sri Lanka has lodged a complaint about their hotel in New York and the scheduling of their matches.
Wanindu Hasaranga and his team are staying at a hotel located one and a half hours away from their training ground. Furthermore, Sri Lanka will play their four group stage matches across four different venues, while India will play three consecutive matches at the same venue.
Sri Lanka will begin their campaign on Monday, June 3, against South Africa at Nassau County Stadium in New York. Ireland will also play their first match in New York against India on June 5.
