Smriti Mandhana Rises To Third Spot In Women’s ODI Batting Rankings, Harmanpreet Kaur Exits Top 10

Smriti Mandhana has ascended two places to secure the third spot in the latest women's ODI batting rankings, as updated by the ICC on Tuesday, June 18. The India Women vice-captain achieved this milestone after scoring a century against South Africa Women on Sunday.

In the first ODI of the three-match series, the 27-year-old left-hander hit 12 fours and a six, amassing 117 runs off 127 balls. She was the only India Women batter in the top six to surpass the 20-run mark in the match.

Mandhana Hits Third in ODI Rankings

India Women were struggling at 99 for five at one point, but Mandhana's impactful innings propelled India to a total of 265/8 in their allotted 50 overs. India subsequently won the match by a margin of 143 runs.

India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who managed to score only 10 runs in the match held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, dropped one spot to 11th in the latest Women's ODI rankings for batters. Deepti Sharma (20th) remains the third-highest ranked ODI batter among India Women players, while Jemimah Rodrigues is positioned at 33rd.

Pooja Vastrakar climbed three places to reach the 38th spot. Vastrakar also made significant gains in the women's ODI charts for all-rounders, moving up four places to secure the 18th position. South Africa veteran Marizanne Kapp continues to hold the top spot as the number one ranked ODI all-rounder.

Mandhana, with 715 points, is now behind Sri Lanka's Chamari Athapaththu, who lost her number one ranking to England's Natalie Sciver-Brunt. The English all-rounder reclaimed her top spot by scoring an unbeaten 124 against Pakistan last month.

In the ODI bowling rankings, off-spinner Deepti Sharma gained one place to move to fourth after delivering economical figures of 2/10 in six overs during the first ODI against South Africa. England spinner Sophie Ecclestone continues to be the number one ranked women's ODI bowler globally.

Ecclestone holds a 70-point lead over Australia Women pacer Megan Schutt. England's Kate Cross occupies the third spot. Renuka Singh (30th) is currently the second-highest ranked India Women bowler.
