Shamar Joseph Commends Jayden Seales For Outstanding Bowling Performance Against Bangladesh

Shamar Joseph commended his teammate Jayden Seales for their impressive performance against Bangladesh on the second day of the Test in Kingston. Seales' exceptional bowling helped dismiss Bangladesh for 164 runs in 71.5 overs. The West Indies ended the day at 70-1, trailing by just 94 runs.

Seales achieved a rare feat by becoming only the sixth bowler to take four or more wickets in a Test innings while conceding five runs or fewer. His remarkable spell included 15.5 overs, with 10 maidens, and an economy rate of 0.31, the lowest since 1978.

Joseph praised Seales' aggressive bowling style, saying, "We know the aggression [Seales] brings to the table." He added that it was the best he had seen Seales bowl and enjoyed watching his spell. After a rain-interrupted first day, Bangladesh resumed at 69-2 and reached 83 without further loss.

Joseph contributed significantly by taking three wickets for 49 runs. He dismissed Shahadat Hossain Dipu for 22, triggering a collapse that saw Bangladesh fall to 98-6. Joseph also claimed the wickets of Jaker Ali and Shadman Islam.

Despite efforts from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam to stabilize their innings, Seales wrapped up Bangladesh's batting lineup with his outstanding performance. His wickets included Litton Das, Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, and Nahid Rana.

"We always try to come out and do our best and stick to the basics," Joseph stated. He mentioned discussions with their bowling coach focused on maintaining simplicity in their approach.

West Indies' Series Lead

The West Indies lead the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Antigua by 201 runs. Their strong position in this match puts them on track for another victory.

Joseph emphasized his strategy of bowling fast to unsettle batters: "I just stuck to the plan. I wanted to bowl as fast as possible and make the batters uncomfortable."
