Sanju Samson And Phil Salt Join Rare List After Scoring Ducks Following Centuries In T20I Matches
Sanju Samson from India and Phil Salt from England joined a rare group of cricketers after scoring ducks in their recent T20 matches. This occurred on Sunday, November 10, when Samson faced South Africa and Salt played against the West Indies.
Samson had previously scored a century in the series opener against South Africa but was dismissed without scoring by Marco Jansen in the third ball of the match at St George's Park. This was a stark contrast to his earlier performance where he scored 107 runs in Durban.

Phil Salt also experienced a similar fate. After scoring an unbeaten 103 at Kensington Oval, Barbados, he was dismissed for a golden duck by Akeal Hosein during England's chase of 159 runs. This happened just days after his impressive century at the same venue.
This unfortunate record is not new in T20 Internationals. Legendary player Chris Gayle was the first to achieve this unwanted feat. Other players who have experienced this include Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rilee Rossouw, and Brendon McCullum.
- Chris Gayle (West Indies) - 117 off 57 balls vs South Africa & 0 off 3 balls vs Bangladesh in September 2007
- Brendon McCullum (New Zealand) - 116* off 56 balls vs Australia & 0 off 4 balls vs Sri Lanka in February-April 2010

The list includes notable players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rilee Rossouw, who have also experienced this rare occurrence. Despite these setbacks, these players continue to be significant contributors to their teams.
Adding to his record, Samson became the first Indian cricketer to register four ducks within a single calendar year in T20 internationals. This highlights both his highs and lows within the sport.
