Rahul Dravid's Son Samit Selected In Maharaja Trophy Auction For Rs 50,000

Samit Dravid, son of former India captain Rahul Dravid, was selected for Rs 50,000 at the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 auction on Thursday, July 25 in Bengaluru. The 18-year-old all-rounder will debut in the Karnataka-based T20 league.

Samit will join India internationals Karun Nair, Prasidh Krishna, and Krishnappa Gowtham in his first season. Nair remains the captain of Mysore Warriors, who were runners-up last season. Samit is a medium-pacer and middle-order batter.

In the auction, Mysore Warriors acquired Gowtham for INR 7.4 lakh and J Suchith for INR 4.8 lakh. Krishna, recovering from surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon, was bought for Rs 1 lakh.

Wicketkeeper batter LR Chethan emerged as the most expensive player at the auction. He was purchased by Bengaluru Blasters for Rs 8.2 lakh after playing for Gulbarga Mystics last year.

The tournament will also feature notable players like Devdutt Padikkal (Gulbarga Mystics), Mayank Agarwal (Bengaluru Blasters), Mohsin Khan (Blaster), and Manish Pandey (Hubli Tigers).

Samit Dravid was part of the Karnataka Under-19 team that won the 2023-24 Cooch Behar Trophy. He also played for KSCA XI in a three-day match against Lancashire in Alur this March.
