Sairaj Bahutule Joins As India's Bowling Coach For Sri Lanka Series
Gautam Gambhir, India's new head coach, will begin his tenure with the Sri Lanka tour starting on July 27.
Sairaj Bahutule, a former India spinner, will act as India's bowling coach in Sri Lanka. At 51 years old, Bahutule will temporarily take on this role for six limited-over matches, comprising three ODIs and three T20Is.

Bahutule's coaching career has seen him work with Kerala and Bengal during the 2014-15 season. He later served as the spin bowling coach for Rajasthan Royals before moving to coach Gujarat at the domestic level. Additionally, he was the bowling coach for India A during their South Africa tour in 2021.
In Sri Lanka, Bahutule will collaborate with Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, who are appointed as assistant coaches under Gautam Gambhir. T Dilip, who previously served as India's fielding coach under Rahul Dravid, will also be part of the coaching staff.
The former spinner will again join the Indian team in Sri Lanka, which includes players like Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav across formats. Known for his bowling prowess in domestic cricket, Bahutule has taken 630 wickets.
Bahutule's Playing Career
The 51-year-old also represented India in 2 Tests and 8 ODIs where he picked up 5 wickets.
Reports suggest that Morne Morkel is set to take up the Bowling coach role; however, the Sri Lanka series came too soon for him.
This coaching team aims to bring their expertise to help India perform well in the upcoming matches.
