Sachin Tendulkar Urges Young Cricketers To Uphold Discipline And Respect At Achrekar Memorial

During the unveiling of the Ramakant Achrekar Memorial at Shivaji Park, Sachin Tendulkar shared an inspiring message with young cricketers. He highlighted the values his legendary coach instilled in him.

Tendulkar, visibly moved, spoke about discipline and respect, which were central to his career. Reflecting on his early training days under Achrekar Sir, he emphasised a key principle: respecting one's cricket kit.

Tendulkar's Message to Young Cricketers

"Sir's vision was to teach us not just how to play cricket, but also how to respect the game and everything associated with it. One of his most important lessons was about respecting your cricket kit. I tell many players, even today, never throw your bat in frustration. Remember, you are sitting in the dressing room because of that bat, so never do that," Tendulkar said at the event, addressing the youngsters.

He recalled Achrekar's strict yet meaningful teachings. Tendulkar stressed that a player's equipment is more than just tools; they symbolise their journey in cricket.

"Many players come in, throw their bats, or mishandle their kit out of frustration. But you must understand that we are today is because of cricket. Always respect your kit. It has its place, and it should be treated with care and gratitude," he added.

Tendulkar urged young cricketers to uphold these values taught by their coach. He emphasised the importance of continuing this legacy of discipline and respect.

"This was Sir's training from childhood, and we have always carried it with us. It is now our responsibility to pass on his messages to the next generation," the India legend concluded.
