Sachin Baby Achieves Milestone As All-Format Highest Scorer For Kerala In Domestic Cricket

Kerala's cricket captain, Sachin Baby, is thrilled after becoming the leading run-scorer for Kerala across all domestic formats. This achievement marks a significant milestone in his cricketing career.

During a Ranji Trophy match against Haryana in Lahli on November 13, Sachin Baby surpassed Rohan Prem to become Kerala's top run-scorer. He reached this milestone with an individual score of 15, overtaking Prem's record of 5,396 runs. By the end of the day's play, Baby remained unbeaten on 24 runs, accumulating a total of 5,406 runs for Kerala.

In addition to his Ranji Trophy success, Sachin Baby holds the record as the highest scorer for Kerala in both ODI and T20 formats within domestic competitions.

List A Cricket Performance

Sachin Baby has amassed 2,826 runs in List A matches for Kerala, maintaining an average of 41.55. His impressive performance includes four centuries and nineteen fifties.

T20 Format Success

In T20 cricket, Baby has scored 1,781 runs at an average of 30 and a strike rate of 131.6. His highest score in this format is 79, and he has achieved ten fifties for Kerala. Sanju Samson follows him with a total of 1,698 T20 runs for the team.

After achieving this remarkable feat, Sachin Baby shared his thoughts with MyKhel during an exclusive interview. "Very happy [for the record]. Because it was a dream to play for Kerala and play for so long. And achieving this, it's like really a blessing for me," he expressed.

The match against Haryana faced interruptions due to foggy conditions early in the morning, limiting play to just 54 overs. At present, Kerala stands at 138 for two wickets with Sachin Baby batting on 24 runs alongside Akshay Chandran who remains unbeaten on 51 runs.
