SA20 Auction 2025: Your Ultimate Guide To Teams, Slots, And Streaming
The SA20 2025 season is set to commence in January-February next year. Before the matches begin, all six teams will finalise their squads through a player auction.
Teams have already secured elite overseas players like Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root. Additionally, they have retained top South African talent during last month's retention window.
Each team has shown dedication to nurturing young local talent by incorporating seven of the eight inaugural Rookies from last season into their squads. Teams can still add players at the third edition of the SA20 auction later this year.
The third edition of the SA20 auction is scheduled for October 1 in Cape Town. Players interested in participating can register on the official website until September 6.
The bidding process will commence at 4:30 PM SAST (Local Time) on October 1, which corresponds to 8 PM IST (Indian time) on the same day.
Remaining Slots and Purse Details
Many teams have retained their core players and signed marquee overseas talents. A total of 19 slots are available at the auction, with 13 auction picks and six Rookie selections across the six teams.
Paarl Royals will enter the auction with the largest purse. All teams except Paarl Royals and Durban's Super Giants will have at least three picks each. MICT, JSK, and Pretoria Capitals still have their Wildcard option available until December 30.

Squad Size Limitations
Each team must include a minimum of 10 South African players, a maximum of seven overseas players, and one new Rookie player who must be South African in their 19-player squad.

The SA20 Auction will be broadcast live on SuperSport in South Africa. Globally, including India, it will be streamed live on the SA20 Official YouTube Channel. Complete broadcast details will be announced closer to the date.
