SA20 2025 Squads Announced: Insights Ahead Of Season 3 Player Auction
All six teams have finalised their retentions and pre-signings ahead of the player auction for the third edition of SA20, scheduled for October 1 in Cape Town. The tournament will take place from January 9, 2025, to February 8, 2025. Sunrisers Eastern Cape aim for a third consecutive title, while Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals, Paarl Royals, and Durban's Super Giants look to break their winning streak.
Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape have retained the core of their title-winning squad and added three overseas players through pre-signings. Other teams have also made strategic retentions and signings. England stars Ben Stokes and Joe Root are set to debut in SA20, while Dinesh Karthik will become the first Indian player to feature in the franchise league.
