End Of An Era: Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli To Play Their Final T20 World Cup
An Indian cricket team, composed of relatively unknown and young players, triumphed in the inaugural World T20 in 2007. However, the team has not managed to replicate that success since then.
As the latest squad prepares for another edition of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA, Indian fans are united in their hope for a victory. Following the disappointment of the 2023 World Cup, where India lost to Australia at home, the pressure is on Rohit Sharma and his team to deliver this time.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been standout performers for India. Kohli's numerous records and Rohit's exceptional batting skills and accolades set them apart. As they take the field this year, their determination to win is evident.
Rohit Sharma, who played in the 2007 T20 World Cup, is the only Indian player to have participated in all nine editions of the tournament. However, this is likely to be his last. Reports suggest that Virat Kohli may also step aside from T20Is to allow younger players to come through.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri echoed this sentiment. In a recent interview with Star Sports, Shastri stated that both Kohli and Sharma would be playing their final T20 World Cup this year and would focus on ODIs and Tests thereafter.
"This is going to be the last T20I World Cup for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. After this tournament, they should focus on playing ODIs and Tests," Shastri said.
Virat Kohli is also set to open with Rohit Sharma in this year's T20 World Cup. Although Yashasvi Jaiswal is an option, it is likely that these two experienced batters will open the innings for India.
