Rahul Dravid confirmed that this tournament would mark his final assignment as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. The BCCI is already searching for his successor, who is set to take charge from July 1, with Gautam Gambhir reported as the leading contender.

Dravid emphasised that every game he has coached for India has been important to him, expressing his dedication to coaching and the significance of each game. He stated, "Every tournament is important. Every game that I've coached for India has been very important for me."
