Rohit Sharma Set To Join India Team In Perth But Will Miss First Test Against Australia

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, is preparing to join his teammates in Perth. He had stayed back for the birth of his second child but is now ready to travel to Australia.

The first Test match between India and Australia will begin on Friday, November 22, at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Due to Rohit Sharma's absence, Jasprit Bumrah has been appointed as the captain for this opening match.

Rohit Sharma Joins India Team in Perth

Although Rohit Sharma will arrive in Perth, he will not participate in the first Test. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the team as it is too soon for Rohit to be involved in tomorrow's match.

Initially, there were reports that Rohit wanted to spend more time with his family after his son's birth. However, he seems to have decided on an earlier flight to Australia.

Expected Arrival of Rohit Sharma in Perth

Rohit Sharma is expected to reach Perth and join the squad on November 24. Despite a delay due to his newborn, he will be available for the second Test match in Adelaide.

In addition to Rohit's absence, Shubman Gill is sidelined with a finger injury. Either Devdutt Padikkal or Abhimanyu Easwaran will replace him, with Padikkal currently being the frontrunner.
